Crazy Fast Aussie Sedan

August 25th, 2017

Produced in Australia, the 2000 Holden Commodore is basically the equivalent of a Chevrolet Lumina. While it is sold as a performance sedan, it is still considered a family car and an ultimate grocery-getter of sorts.

Well, with a dyno test, some street hits and multiple track passes (on this video), even I can see that this is no ordinary Commodore. I guess the first clue was the two massive turbochargers that are nestled in under the front bumper.

Let’s take a look under the hood: It all begins with an all-aluminum, 440 cubic-inch, Dart LSx based engine built by Powerhouse Racing. A Turbonetics kit with a pair of 75-millimeter billet turbochargers force copious amounts of air into the engine. This Australian built sedan also has plenty of aftermarket Aussie high-performance goodies on display.

The 3,800-pound car has run a best elapsed time of 7.9-seconds in the quarter-mile and it comes out of the hole like a bullet.

This beast tears up the track, stupefies the street and dominates the dyno and it is all captured in a single video.

You don’t want to miss this one – it has everything.
