Randy Pobst is back behind the wheel and once again, the track is the iconic Mazda Laguna Seca Raceway. Randy is as qualified as anyone to critique high performance automobiles and Laguna Seca is designed with a unique set of hair pins, corkscrews, and gut-wrenching elevation changes. This is an incredible car. The 2017 Audi R8 Plus is sister to the Lamborghini Huracan (both Audi and Lamborghini are owned by the VW group). It has an identical carbon-fiber monocoque cockpit, engine, steering system, and transmission as the Huracan. The engine is a state-of-the-art 5.2-liter V10 that produces 610hp at 8,700 RPM. It is available with your choice of a manual or an automatic transmission. The R8 (as tested) is capable of jetting from 0 to 60 mph in just 2.6-seconds, has an electronically controlled top speed of 205 mph, and a sticker price of nearly $200,000. Wow!
