June 6th, 2020

Greetings drag racing aficionados and speed freaks from every avenue of the racing world. This well produced video documents the top speed test of a stock 2017 Audi R8 V10 Plus on a 2.3-mile closed course. Sharing a platform with the Lamborghini Huracan, the Audi R8 V10 Plus is a mid-engine powered all-wheel drive street rocket – built with a luxurious cockpit. Have a look…

Under the glass bonnet is a naturally aspirated 5.2-liter V10 engine. It is capable of producing 610hp at 8,250 RPM and 413 lb.-ft. of torque at 6,500 RPM. The crisp, DOHC, all-aluminum V10 with direct fuel injection accelerates from idle to 8,250 RPM in .66-seconds. The car can accelerate from 0 to 60 mph in just 2.9-seconds and has a top speed of 205 mph. The quarter-mile elapsed time is estimated to be 10.9-seconds at 129 mph. The transmission is a 7-speed dual clutch automatic with steering wheel mounted paddle shifters. The car weighs 3,684-pounds and has a wheelbase of 104.3-inches.

As expected, the R8 leaves violently and accelerates smoothly throughout the gear range. Near the 2.3-mile mark, the Audi tops out at 201.612 mph and begins braking to a safe speed. Wonderful car and a great video.
