1100HP Evolution MR – Dyno and Street Hits

August 6th, 2019

Featured in this clip is an all-wheel drive 2006 Evo IX that has been purpose-built for street racing. Today it will be dyno tested/tuned and get some last-minute tweaks to get it race ready for the upcoming TRC Invitational. Let’s strap it down and see what she’s got.

Under the bonnet is a 4G63 2.2-liter DOHC Stroker engine with a GSC crankshaft and custom spec pistons/connecting rods. Up top is a cylinder head ported by David Jack Racing. It is loaded with Ferrera race valves, Supertech dual valve springs and a pair of Kelford 288 camshafts. A PWR radiator keeps the engine cool. High-Intensity spark is provided using a M&W Pro Ignition System and HKS Super Arc spark plugs. Fuel (pump E85) and fire are regulated with an AEM Infinity controller (tuned by Lance). An AMS intake manifold and custom turbo manifold feed air into the engine from a Forced Performance Super 99 (67-millimeter) turbocharger with an ETS 6-inch intercooler. A JIC catback exhaust mated to a custom downpipe allows hot exhaust to escape with virtually no restriction. The transmission is a Drenth Sequential with custom gears and it is equipped with an Exedy triple-clutch.

The big number ended up being 1,011whp and 775 lb.-ft. of torque (on 51 psi of boost). The car is capable of 60 psi but you get the idea. Kudos to Machines Gone Wild and Ronnie Crawford for the sound engine build and Lance (Toyomoto) for precise tuning.
