190 MPH Sequential EVO IX

January 30th, 2018

Wow! Talk about dialing up the boost – the sequentially shifted DSM is back and it’s better than ever. With a brand new Extreme Turbo Systems (ETS) 6-inch front-mounted intercooler, the boost is turned all the way up to 55 psi. A new AEM Infinity controller, tuned by Lance (Toyomoto), makes sure that plenty of E85 fuel makes it to the cylinders. Any way you slice it – more air and more fuel equals increased performance. This sporty sedan is prepared by Machines Gone Wild (Miami, Florida). It features a Ronnie Crawford built 2.2-liter engine with Carillo connecting rods and Read More

Import vs. Domestic – Chevy, DSM, and Ford

October 28th, 2017

The battle between imported and domestic automobiles continues to rage on the streets of old Mexico. It all began about the time that the first imported automobiles began disembarking in the ports of the U.S. and Canada and it is alive and well in 2017. Our first entrant is racing a Chevrolet 1500 Sportside pickup. It is well equipped with a 6.0-liter LS engine that has been outfitted with a supercharger and a kit of nitrous. Entrant number two is piloting a Ford Mustang Cobra Terminator Edition with a 3.4-liter Whipple supercharger, full bolt-ons, and a performance tuner. Power output Read More

Evo X World Record Quarter-Mile

April 22nd, 2017

Hello drag racing fans and speed aficionados of every variety. Join me in congratulating Extreme Turbo Systems (ETS) and English Racing as they (once again) shatter the world record 1/4-mile with a pass of 8.48-seconds @ 164.1 mph. The crew had the little sedan running in the 8.5-second range the entire event (TX2K17) and finally hit the right spot for a blow out pass in the latter stages. It seemed like Lucas English was pulling his hair out at the laptop trying to find the perfect tune. Lucas is no stranger to world records and he came through in the clutch. Read More

Honda S2000 Street Hammer

October 17th, 2016

By: Evan Margolis Here’s a sight that’s just about as rare as hen’s teeth (of course you know, hens don’t have any teeth). It is a Honda S2000 sports coupe with a souped up Toyota engine under the bonnet. This hybrid import is equipped to handle the street machines of Texas (a little town down in Mexico), despite having a manual transmission. As stated, the S2000 is running a Toyota power train, including a 2JZ in-line 6-cylinder (built bottom end) engine with a giant turbocharger. The combo is good for about 1,100hp. Things get interesting when two similarly equipped Supra Read More

Tin Can Mitsubishi Evo – Stock ECM World Record

September 3rd, 2016

Who knew that there was an event focused exclusively on Diamond Star Motors (DSM) held annually at Summit Motorsports Park in Norwalk, Ohio? Seems like someone should have, since the DSM Shootout has been going on for the last 24-years. This event grows bigger and bigger with each passing year. This is due in large part to the popularity of the Mitsubishi Evolution. Despite the Evo coming from the factory with a 2.2-liter four-cylinder engine, this car is easily modified. Many top-shelf aftermarket manufacturers are producing high performance parts for these cars that are practical, comfortable, and have the potential Read More

Dig Race – Evo 9 vs. Viper

June 8th, 2016

What’s better than a parking lot dig race? A parking lot dig race with beautiful women. What’s better than that? – when one of the beauties is driving a really fast car. Stunning Sky Espinoza owns two impressive Mitsubishi Evos and she does most of her own high-performance work and maintenance. She’s a real knockout – behind the wheel and in front of the camera. This clip shows her racing her ‘MisterJ’ Evo against a mighty Dodge Viper. The Mitsubishi rolls off the factory floor with a 2.0-liter turbocharged and intercooled 4-banger. It makes 286hp in factory trim; safe to Read More

South of the Border Street Battle

May 26th, 2016

This is some insane roll racing street action from down “Old Mexico” way. The action begins at 60 mph and heats way up from there. The feature car of this short clip is a stout twin turbocharged Mustang Cobra. The Snake takes on a turbocharged C5 Corvette and a 750whp Mitsubishi Evolution. Get an eyeful for yourself. The SillyBilly Terminator Cobra is equipped with a 281-cubic-inch engine and a pair of turbochargers “turned about half-way up.” Horsepower output is unknown but, as you can see from the video, it’s pretty substantial. The C5 ‘Vette is powered by a 408-cubic-inch small block Read More

Street Racing – New Mexico Style

October 23rd, 2015

This video is over 6-minutes of heads-up dig (and roll) racing on the streets of New Mexico. All the likely suspects are present and the action is “muy caliente”. Here are some of the highlights from racing into the New Mexico night. A 740hp 2004 Subaru WRX STi with a Precision 6466 turbocharger destroys a 600hp WRX STi. The Terminator Mustang Cobra takes apart a 700hp all-wheel drive Honda Civic, a 400hp Dodge Neon, and gives a 750hp Mitsubishi Evo a good run for his money. A 600hp twin turbocharged Infiniti G35 goes against a 630hp Cadillac CTS-V and a Read More

Street Envy – 750hp TT Green Camaro

August 18th, 2015

Check out this fantastic looking emerald green fifth-generation Camaro. This thing will have you green with envy – street envy, that is. A Hellion twin turbo kit with an AMS 2000 boost controller, a Psycho performance tuner, a camshaft upgrade, and a 3600 RPM stall converter are among the highlighted modifications on this bad Bowtie. The engine is a stock 6.2-liter. The Camaro makes short work of the first two competitors; a souped-up TT Infiniti G35 and a 685hp supercharged Ford Lightning F150 pickup. The final matchup proved to be a bit more of a challenge, though. The 750hp Mitsubishi Read More
