Mustang GT500 vs. Lamborghini Huracan – Street Hits

March 14th, 2024

Getting back to the streets (of Mexico) tonight, we find a fast-paced matchup between an unlikely pair of roll racers. Either one of these cars is enough to stop traffic and make an enthusiast snap his/her neck. Side-by-side, they are a recipe for pandemonium. Buckle-up!

The 2014 Shelby Mustang GT500 is a brute of a pony car. Under the hood is a supercharged 5.8-liter V8 engine that can make 662hp and 631 lb.-ft. of torque in factory condition. All that power is routed to the rear wheels via a 6-speed manual transmission. As the flagship car in the Mustang lineup, the GT500 can accelerate from 0 to 60 mph in 4.1-seconds and turn the standing quarter-mile in 12.1-seconds @ 109 mph. At a curb weight of 3,850-pounds, this car has been modified with a cat delete exhaust setup and the rear seat has been removed for weight reduction.

In the other lane is the 2015 Lamborghini Huracan LP 610-4. Utilizing a 602hp (413 lb.-ft. of torque) 5.2-liter V10 engine, the Huracan can go from 0 to 60 mph in 3.2-seconds. With an all-wheel drivetrain and a 7-speed dual-clutch automatic transmission, this Lambo can clear the standing quarter-mile in 10.3-seconds @ 135 mph. Weighing-in at 3,135-pounds, the Italian has a distinct weight advantage over the American.

What’s that I hear? These two stallions are taking to the interstate, now.
