Leticia Hughes Mustang GT Gets Boosted – Drag Racing

March 10th, 2022

After setting the naturally aspirated (N/A) world on its proverbial ear, drag racer Leticia Hughes is back with some boost. Leticia jumped behind the wheel of the family hot rod for kicks and giggles and got bitten by the drag racing bug. From there she went on to transform her N/A Mustang into a consistent 10-second car – breaking hearts and collecting first-place checks (Grocery Getter Class) all over the country. In 2018, Leticia finally got the car dialed-in with a record-breaking pass of 9.557-seconds at 143.51 mph.

With lower elapsed times in her sights, Leticia is back at Palm Beach Dyno to upgrade her beast of a N/A Mustang with a Whipple supercharger setup. With the new boosted platform, Leticia also pioneered a new 8.60 Street Class for NMRA.

The new motor for the supercharged Mustang is from TKM Performance. It features AFS cylinder heads, Competition camshafts and a 3.8-liter Whipple blower. Needless to say, some eight-second elapsed times are expected. The car is up and running but has yet to be dyno tested.

We can’t wait to see Leticia compete in the new (Index) Class and continue her winning ways. This is a great car with a top-notch driver.
