May 15th, 2015

lotus frontWatch as the crew from King’s Performance, of Orlando, Florida, campaign their unique creation during the 2015 Streetcar Takeover Event. It is a Lotus Elise with a turbocharged Honda engine under the bonnet. The video shows the Lotus posting a 9.55-second pass @ 156.25 mph.

King’s Performance opted out of the stock Lotus running gear and replaced it with a mid-mounted four-cylinder Honda K20A1 engine being force fed by a Precision 6266 turbocharger. This combination is responsible for producing approximately 750-horsepower (the car and driver only weigh 2,200-pounds). A Quaife sequential gearbox handles the shifting duties. The Lotus boasts a best time of 9.489-seconds @ 159.27 mph.
