8-Second Trans Am Crowned King of the Corn

December 13th, 2016

8-second-trans-am-crowned-king-of-the-cornThis ain’t candy-corn it’s King of the Corn, coming at you from (where else?) Kearney, Nebraska. The Pontiac Trans Am known as FireChicken is back on radials and looking to take home the crown (and $10K) in the Street Racer Class.

With husband and wife team (Jacob and Anastasia Hachinski) handling the tuning and driving duties, the FireChicken ain’t scared of nobody and they’re in it for the bucks – not the clucks. Okay, enough with the chicken allusions, let’s get down to some drag racing!

Since winning their class at Rocky Mountain Race Week, (driver) Jacob and (tuner) Anastasia, have the confidence to race anyone on the street or strip. However, when the competition started rolling in on Friday afternoon, bringing home the cash and crown seemed a daunting task. Regardless, Anastasia got busy tweaking her MS3-Pro controller and Jacob put his right foot forward to give it their best combined effort.

The FireChicken is equipped with a 6.0-liter LS engine and an 83-millimeter turbocharger. The car and crew posted consistent passes in the 8.5-second range @ 160 mph throughout the weekend and took home the prize.
