7-Second Rotary Powered Mazda RX-7

May 15th, 2018

I don’t think we’re in Kansas anymore, Toto – oh, wait a minute that’s exactly where we are – for No Prep Mayhem. With $20,000 on the line in this eighth-mile No Prep shootout, there are some of the baddest small and big tire cars in the land chomping at the bit to get on the track and get sorted out.

Approximately sixty small tire vehicles and twenty big tire machines have showed up to claim their share of midwest bragging rights and cold hard cash. Hate Tank, The Luv, Flaco, and Amoris are all on hand to get their chance at this fat grand prize and our feature car is skinning it back with one of the smallest engines on the property.

This Mazda RX-7 is a 2-rotor with  turbocharger that looks bigger than the engine. You will find yourself wondering how they can make 1,200+hp and run the quarter-mile in 7.15-seconds with this tiny engine. It’s a nice car. You don’t want to miss it.

The vintage Chevrolet Impala that wins the Big Tire Class is also nothing short of amazing, For this huge car to come out of the hole as lazily as it does, it rolls hard through the trap and just devours the competition. Truly amazing.
