2023 Corvette Z06 vs. 1000HP GT-R and Stock Nismo GT-R – Drag Race

January 21st, 2023

The mid-engine C8 Chevrolet Corvette Z06 has been lauded as one of the most innovative sports cars in generations. After testing the likes of the Dodge Demon and the Ford GT40, this Chevy is ready to take on the best that Japan has to offer. Hang on tight, this is going to get crazy!

The C8 Corvette Z06 features a naturally aspirated 5.5-liter V8 engine that can produce 670hp and 470 lb.-ft. of torque. With its mid-mounted engine, the rear-wheel drive Z06 tips the scale at 3,434-pounds.

White in color, the R34 Nissan GT-R is powered by a single turbo inline 6-cylinder engine (not stock). Mechanical details are sketchy, but I stole a peek at a massive Garret turbocharger. The owner is claiming 1,000hp and the all-wheel drive R34 weighs 3,439-pounds.

Finally, the all-wheel drive Nismo G-R has a twin turbocharged 3.8-liter V6 engine. In stock trim, the V6 can churn out 600hp and 481 lb.-ft. of torque at a weight of 3,867-pounds.

Judging by performance specs alone, we may be looking at a beat down for the latest version of the flagship Chevy. One thing is for sure, it will be entertaining.
