The GT-R That Jack Built

May 11th, 2018

Running in the fine air that permeates Colorado Springs, Colorado, an outstanding field of performance cars has gathered to assault a half-mile patch of abandoned airstrip. Among them is this no-nonsense Nissan GT-R. The Pike’s Peak Airstrip Attack is among the most prestigious top-speed events in the world.   This black beauty is powered by a 4.1-liter stroker motor (aluminum connecting rods) with an Extreme Turbo Systems (ETS) kit on it (twin Precision 6466 turbochargers). At 37 psi, the car maxed a 1,500hp dyno out. Jack’s Transmissions performed the build on the entire car and they are on-hand today to Read More

King of NO PREP – Chevy S10

December 15th, 2017

Greetings drag racing enthusiasts! Allow me to introduce the King of NO PREP racing, Larry Larson and his beast of a compact pickup truck. Larry has attacked the grueling affair known as Rocky Mountain Race Week on eleven separate occasions and has never failed to complete what is possibly the most challenging test of endurance (for man and machine) in racing. Rocky Mountain Race Week consists of five days of NO PREP drag racing at four separate drag strips. It begins in Kearney, Nebraska then moves to Denver, Colorado. From Denver to Pueblo, Colorado. From Pueblo it’s over to Great Read More

Street Pulls – 800WHP EVO

November 3rd, 2017

What could be sweeter than an 800whp DSM? How about a warm night of roll racing on the highways of Mexico? The feature car is a 2005 Mitsubishi Evolution (8) that has been radically modified to enhance performance. It is powered by an EVO 9 2.0-liter four-cylinder engine that has been built by AG Autosport (with steel connecting rods). The bottom end is rated at 1,000hp. It also uses a Precision 62-millimeter turbocharger. A pair of Walbro 450 pumps keep the E85 fuel flowing. A Haltech ECU (tuned by CriSpeed) keeps all the ponies running in the same direction. 1200HP Scion Dyno and Street

October 26th, 2016

This video takes us on a walk through, a dyno test, and a spirited street run in a Scion FRS. With its real-wheel drive platform and relatively light gross vehicle weight (3,500 to 3,700-pounds), the FRS is the perfect starting point for any street or strip project. This car has also got a great set of lines and an aggressive stance that caught my attention from its inception. Theoretically, one could jerk out the 200hp factory mill and fill this engine bay up with an LS V8 and the transmission that goes with it, with very little fabrication. You’d still Read More

1291HP Street Sleeper Sedan – Dyno and Test Drive

June 29th, 2016

While this sedan doesn’t exactly look like your typical grocery-getter, you don’t see many 1,200+hp rides with four-doors and a baby seat in the back. Billed (by AG Motosports) as the Mitsubishi Evolution with the most horsepower on this planet, this thing hit 1,291whp and 767-lb.-ft. of torque on the dyno and then hit the streets for some test-abuse. This ‘Mr. Biscuit’ is well heeled with a built 2.0-liter – and I mean built – with GRP aluminum connecting rods and an AG Competition cylinder head with Ferrea valves, Supertech valve springs, and a set of AG racing spec camshafts. 8-Second Jeep Grand Cherokee

May 30th, 2016

Check out this all-wheel drive 2007 Jeep Grand Cherokee SRT8 putting down an 8-second 1/4-mile at 167.41 mph. This is one SUV that you probably don’t want to roll off the line against. With a built (by Mark Hedrick) 6.1-liter HEMI and a top-mounted (Stage6 Motorsports) Precision ProMod 94-millimeter turbocharger, this Mopar is making 1300hp and getting down the 1320 with the best of them. This video brings us a small dose of shop tuning and setup; followed by a single pass at the drag strip. In addition to the engine modifications and the turbo, this Jeep has a custom Read More

Shocker – Honda Civic vs. Lamborghini Gallardo

May 16th, 2016

If someone told me that a Honda Civic beat a Lamborghini Gallardo on the street or strip, I’d think they were being less than honest. If I saw this unlikely sight on a local interstate, I’d believe that I needed to drink less or have my eyes checked. However, there just is no arguing with video. The Civic coupe weighs in at 2,100-pounds and is equipped with a sleeved K20 2.0-liter Honda VTEC engine with a 6262 Precision turbocharger. It’s making around 700hp. The hatchback has a similar setup, except it has an ERL block and a 66-millimeter turbocharger. The Read More

Turbocharged Audi S2 Takes Valhalla Cup

May 3rd, 2016

The Valhalla Cup is a multi-night street racing event that takes place in (of all places) Sweden. There is a bevy of top shelf street racing creations in this video, along with an above average police presence. This little all-wheel drive coupe manages to win the Viking trophy and take home the cash prize – despite some pretty stout competition. This 1996 Audi S2 is powered by a factory 2.2-liter (5-cylinder) engine with a Precision 6466 turbocharger and it has a manual transmission. Horsepower is estimated at 800-ponies. You won’t believe the level of competition in this video. Take a Read More

Eight-Mile Monster Foxbody Mustang

April 8th, 2016

Fletcher Cox (of the NFL’s Philadelphia Eagles) makes his living getting after quarterbacks. Shaun Harris makes his living driving Fletcher’s beast of a Foxbody Mustang and getting after the competition in the 1/8-mile. With a 481X Proline engine and a pair of Precision 102-millimeter turbochargers (mated to a Turbo400 transmission), this is being billed as the fastest stock suspension car on the planet. This thing really gets down the track recording a 3.97 @ 205.76 mph, a 3.96 @ 212.94 mph, a 3.95 @ 206.95, and finally a 3.86 @ 206.83 mph on the way to the finals.
