Lucky Costa’s Ultimate Street Sleeper Shop Truck

July 24th, 2021

Uglier than a drown rat and more fun than a barrel of monkeys, Lucky Costa’s 1200hp supercharged 1967 Chevy C10 is a street racer’s dream. Proving true the old adage that “it ain’t how you look, it’s what you have under the hood” Lucky (Hot Rod Garage) gives us an inside look at what makes this ugly truck so darn fast.

Let’s begin underneath. First, a full QA1 suspension system (front and rear) adds an unbelievable degree of stability to the old work truck. Upgrades include tubular upper and lower control arms, alloy spindles and an adjustable four link setup in the rear. The ample braking setup is by Baer.

Providing the 1200hp is an all-aluminum 5.3-liter LS3 V8 engine with a set of Trick Flow cylinder heads and a Magnuson 2300cc supercharger. The exhaust is a virtually unrestricted Hooker Blackheart system that includes long tube headers, and the transmission is a 4L80E built by GearStar.

The interior is basic and clean. Instrumentation is digital.

The only thing left to do is climb onboard with Shawn (from Autotopia) and Lucky for a tire roasting session. Enjoy!
