900HP Subaru – Journey to the 8-Second Quarter-Mile

August 19th, 2019

I got mad respect for this father/son team representing Cuba. Pops has been a technician for more than sixty-years. He got junior started early in the engine building game and it’s finally paying off. The two have combined their resources on this 900hp Subaru with outstanding results. Like most of us, they are looking to shave time from their next pass down the strip. Today, these guys are looking for that elusive 8-second pass in the quarter-mile. Their 2005 Subaru WRX STi is a work of art. With hundreds of passes in the books, this Fuji Heavy Industries stud comes Read More

Every quarter-mile pass in this rambunctious, manually shifted Toyota Supra seems more like a series of four or five passes. Each one shooting – crazy and uncontrollable – in a slightly different direction. That’s what racing is like when you have built a manually shifted car equipped with a 1,650hp 2JZ (inline 6-cylinder) engine with a massive turbocharger (50 psi of boost). Under the hood you’ll find a Bullet Race Engineering Read More

Vlad’s Journey – A 1300HP Supra Story

March 3rd, 2019

First things first; this is a beautiful car. As far as imports go – this is a real find. It is a 1998 Toyota Supra Quicksilver Twin Turbo Edition. This is a rare car that has been carefully and skillfully renovated/upgraded in stages. Car owner, Vlad, takes you through these stages and shares some of his thoughts along his journey. The initial round of modifications came as fuel system upgrades and included: Injector Dynamics (ID) 1,000cc fuel injectors in an RMR (Ross Machine Racing) fuel rail with an AEM fuel pressure regulator.
