Porsche 911 Turbo S vs. Tesla Model S Plaid – Street Hits

April 13th, 2024

Some serious power is making it to the pavement when these two all-wheel drive supercars take to the interstate (in Mexico) for some high-speed low-drag shenanigans. Grab your gear and buckle-up ‘cause it’s about to get real.

The 2022 Porsche 911 Turbo S is a German juggernaut. Featuring a rear-mounted twin turbocharged all-aluminum 3.7-liter flat six engine, the 911 Turbo S can accelerate from 0 to 60 mph in 2.2-seconds and blast through the quarter-mile in 10.7 seconds @ 137 mph. At a curb weight of 3,646-pounds, the Porsche 911 Turbo S has a top speed (electronically controlled) of 205 mph. The Porsche you see in this video has been upgraded with high-performance exhaust, a transmission tune and an intercooler kit. I have seen this car before. He’s plenty quick.

A heavy curb weight of 4,828-pounds, the 2021 Tesla Model S Plaid utilizes a trio of constant magnet electric motors to generate the equivalent of 1,020hp. Far from being your grandad’s old golf kart, the Model S Plaid can accelerate from 0 to 60 mph in 2.1-seconds and turn the standing quarter-mile in 9.4-seconds @ 151 mph. Top speed for the Tesla is 162 mph. The Tesla is running at full body weight and he’s only at 80-percent charge.

Let’s go racing!
