Hot Rod Drag Week 2017

September 12th, 2017

Greetings fellow speed enthusiasts – it is once again time for that grueling pilgrimage known as Hot Rod Drag Week.

This event is one of the most demanding for competitors and cars alike. It requires that race teams drive their street cars over 1,000-miles; racing at four different tracks over a five-day period. There is just not another event where you can see elite level street and strip cars pulling travel trailers and racking up highway miles before lining up to take on the quarter-mile in earnest.

There are a wide variety of cars on hand – from all over the world. There are tons of 2,000+hp domestic cars but there are also some high-powered imports and even some exotic creations that have never been sold in the U.S.

During most street car focused events, 7-second passes are a rarity. During Hot Rod Drag Week, seven and eight-second elapsed times are the norm. There were even some 6-second passes during this day of testing.

Hopefully, we can bring you more from Hot Rod Drag Week as the event unfolds.
