Prepare for take-off; this is how they run across the pond. Kevin Jenkins has been campaigning this 1973 Ford Escort Mk1 for nearly a decade out of Santa Pod Raceway in Bedfordshire, England. This old school Ford classic may not appear familiar to American racers because this particular model was never offered in U.S. markets. Kevin posted a best time of 8.90 @ 150 mph in the 1/4-mile during the 2014 season (not too shabby for an econo-box) and looks to improve on that in the upcoming year.

Powered by a 2.0-liter turbocharged (with a massive intercooler)  Vauxhill XE engine with a dry sump oiling system, this little blue Ford was last featured on DragTimes in 2012 when it ran an inaugural (with forced air induction) 9.51 @ 151.66 mph pass.
