Tesla Model S Plaid vs. Bugatti Chiron – Dig and Roll Airstrip Attack

January 5th, 2022

This is the day that supercars took over the airstrip. At the top of the heap is the Bugatti Chiron. With a selling price of over $3 million, the Chiron is one of the most sophisticated and powerful cars ever produced. Today, we get a chance to see if this French machine can tame the latest dream-squasher to come out of “Detroit”. Boasting a 9-second quarter-mile, the stock Tesla Model S Plaid has been whipping everybody.

Before the Tesla and Bugatti go at it, we have a dig race between a Porsche 911 Turbo S and the all-electric Plaid sedan. In the first pass, the Porsche leaves early, and the Tesla is forced to reign him in – effortlessly. Tesla wins. Ballast is added to the Tesla for the next pass and the Porsche will leave even earlier. I’ll let you decide how this one turn out.

Finally, we have the Bugatti lining up against the Tesla for a dig race. In the quarter-mile dig, the Tesla took an early advantage before the Chiron drove around him to take the narrow win. Bugatti takes the dig race.

Next up is a 50 mph roll race. Again, the Bugatti proves to be too much for the Tesla. A 30 mph dig race is next. The Tesla launches ahead at the start and the Plaid man proclaims, “I got him”. The Bugatti storms back for its most dominant victory yet.

Lots more supercar racing on this one – including a McLaren Senna.
