’55 Chevrolet No Prep Car Goes Lightweight

’55 Chevrolet No Prep Car Goes LightweightYou may be familiar with the bright red ’55 1.0 Chevrolet No Prep machine. Now, check out the new and improved version ’55 2.0. The 2.0 has undergone a weight reduction of around a half-ton – that puts it at about 2,600-pounds – with the same basic color scheme and same hard-charging attitude. As usual, traction is at a premium for this No Prep event. If you love bare-bones, heads-up dig racing, this is right up your alley. The 2.0 is taking on the likes of Swamp Thing, Goliath 2.0, Megladon, and the Cutty, on his way to the finals (Big Tire Class) and a $10k purse.

The ’55 2.0 is running an all-aluminum 632-cubic-inch big block with 3-nitrous kits. The horsepower rating for the ’55 1.0 was rated at 1,500 but the crew is remaining tight lipped about the output of the 2.0. One thing is for sure – this is one heckuva car.
