The German premium automobile manufacturer will present the world premiere of the new BMW 6 Series Convertible at the 2011 North American International Auto Show (NAIAS) in Detroit. BMW will also present for the first time to the public the BMW 1 Series M Coupe as well as the new BMW 1 Series Coupe and the new BMW 1 Series Convertible. The new BMW X3 will be presented immediately before its market launch in the USA. This second generation of the Sports Activity Vehicle is manufactured at BMW's Spartanburg plant in the USA. MINI will present the world premiere of the new MINI Paceman Concept, whose crossover design makes it the first Sports Activity Coupe (SAC) in the small car segment.

The letter M now comes to the segment of the BMW 1 Series to symbolise
outstanding power delivery and the highly dynamic driving properties of a
high-performance sports car. In the BMW 1 Series M Coupe, the technology of
a high-performance car is combined with the agility and lightness of a
compact model to create a whole new dimension of sports-style driving
pleasure. With this 2-door model, BMW M GmbH is now realising for the first
time in this vehicle class its concept of racing-oriented performance
characteristics in a car developed for everyday use . This further extends
the company's model range, paving the way for younger target groups to be
able to access the hallmark driving experience offered by an M car.
The BMW 1 Series M Coupe embodies the unmistakable M feeling in a highly
concentrated form. Its in-line 6-cylinder engine with M TwinPower turbo and petrol direct injection develops a
maximum output of 250 kW/340 bhp with an engine-speed-oriented
characteristic curve typical of BMW M cars. With chassis technology derived
directly from motor racing, a power-to-weight ratio reduced to 4.4
kilograms per bhp and precisely optimised aerodynamic components including
innovative air curtains at the front end, supreme conversion of superior
propulsion power into thrilling driving dynamics is guaranteed. The BMW 1
Series M Coupe accelerates in 4.9 seconds from zero to 100 km/h and reaches
the 200 km/h mark after 17.3 seconds. In the area of efficiency, too, it
achieves top figures within its performance category. Its average fuel
consumption in the EU test cycle is 9.6 litres per 100 kilometres, while
CO2 emissions are at 224 grams per kilometre.
The outstanding sporty flair of the BMW 1 Series M Coupe is outwardly
expressed by the athletic character of its body design. In the exclusively
designed interior of the 4-seater, high-quality materials and an M-specific
cockpit create the ambience of a premium sports car. In its standard
configuration, the BMW 1 Series M Coupe displays the concept harmony so
characteristic of M cars: able to cope both with the extreme demands of the
race track and the diverse challenges of everyday traffic. What is more,
individual preferences in terms of comfort, safety and infotainment can be
fulfilled with a model-specific selection of equipment options also
available for the BMW 1 Series Coupe, including the BMW ConnectedDrive

Blazing performance, compact size. Audi has added a new model to its
dynamic RS series: the RS 3 Sportback. In the great tradition of the brand,
its engine boasts five cylinders and turbocharging technology. From a displacement of
2.5 liters come 250 kW (340 hp) of power and 450 Nm (331.90 lb-ft) of
torque, with an average fuel consumption of just 9.1 liters of fuel per 100
km (25.85 US mpg). Power is transmitted to the road via a seven-speed S
tronic and quattro permanent all-wheel drive. 19-inch wheels and fenders
made of carbon fiber reinforced plastic (CFRP) underscore the Audi RS 3
Sportback's position of distinction.
The RS 3 Sportback comes with an array of standard equipment including the
Sport button, rear parking system, climate control, chorus radio system,
and xenon plus headlights with LED daytime running lights. Audi offers
customers a range of optional features: front bucket seats, roof rails in
matt aluminum look, and styling packages in black or matt aluminum. Five
exterior colors are available, plus an unlimited selection of custom paint
The new top-of-the-line model in the A3 series is already the fourth Audi
model to be built at Audi Hungaria in Győr, where it is rolling off the
assembly line alongside the TT Coupé, the TT Roadster and the A3
Deliveries of the RS 3 Sportback will begin in early 2011. The base price
in Germany will be 49,900 euros.

EXPEDITION CAP NORD EN BMW R 1200 GS ADVENTURE by Lolo
Le Cap Nord a moto en plein hiver, ça revient un peu à s'enquiller une
piste de bobsleigh de 4.500 km de long tout en passant 12 jours dans un
congélateur. Mais ce fut aussi et surtout une fabuleuse expédition au
fin fond de la Norvège à bord de la BMW R 1200 GS Adventure.

Fast, small German cars are back with a vengeance on this episode of Head 2
Head! Join host Jonny Lieberman as he compares and contrasts the
Mercedes-Benz CLA45 AMG with the brand new BMW M235i. Mercedes and BMW have
had small car rivalries like this in the past, most notably the Benz's 190E
2.3-16 versus Bimmer's E30 M3. Fast forward three decades, and times have
changed. Forget natural aspiration, as turbocharging rules the day. The CLA45's engine is
even mounted sideways in a complete departure from Mercedes' tradition.
Regardless of the details, both cars are fast and fun. So much so that

BMW 1 Series M Coupe review - Auto Express
Auto Express gets behind the wheel of BMW's latest M Power car, the 1
Series M Coupe. Powered by a 335bhp 3.0-litre turbocharged six-cylinder engine - a tweaked
version of the unit from the 135i, it is capable of 0-62mph in 4.9 seconds,
while top speed is electronically limited to 155mph.
Could this be the best M car since the original E30 M3? The new 1-Series M
Coupé is about as back-to-basics as BMW's performance models get these
days -- it's a simple formula of a powerful engine, a manual gearbox and
Factor in compact dimensions and you should have a spiritual successor to
one of the most-loved M cars in history. But is it any good on UK roads?
Auto Express took the wheel to find out.
Nurburgring Lap 1M Coupe vs CSL
A lap with a Bmw 1M Coupe on the Nurburgring. The car was awesome and no
problems whatsoever. BTG lap time was 8.15 with traffic and i also needed
to back off throttle for an accident in the last part. Without traffic and
the accident under 8 min BTG is possible. I am following a CSL. Which is a
nurburgring track day car. CSL has a cage, big brakes, lightweight Exhaust and race seats en runs on pilotsport
cup tires. The 1M coupe was completely off factory. I was amazed how well
this 1M coupe runs on the Nurburgring.
