David Brown 950 - Engine start after rebuild
Head refurbed and back on been 3 weeks or so standing a month - start up and bleeding the last of the air out the fuel system - valve clearances set - oil pressure normal- job done lol
We had a problem with this tractor blowing oil out of number 3 cylinder. Strip down revealed the bores and pistons to be in perfect order - so through the process of elimination the fault lay with the cylinder head.
With the head off Exhaust ports were looked at number 3 was wet with oil with dampness on number 1 also. The head was sent off to get refurbed - new valves, guides, stems and seals and skimmed. The this should solve the problem - fingers crossed ! If it doesn't the only thing I can think of in an internal crack but all inspections and tests come back looking good and hopefully this marks the end of this hiccup!

2010 Run to the Coast - 1979 Pontiac Firebird Trans Am Autocross
Here my Trans Am runs the autocross at RTTC 2010. This felt like my quickest run, but as luck would have it, there was some error with the timing so the run did not count. Note that the car shifts out of first gear; the transmission decided it no longer wanted to use 1st gear past 2500 rpm that day, which greatly hindered acceleration.
