A few weeks back I visited my good friend Gary Hart to attend the Street Rod Nationals in Springfield, MO. I took random videos of us at the event, and driving/tuning Gary's super cool 1950 GMC truck - with a turbocharged, electronic fuel injected, 1950's era 302 cubic inch six cylinder.
As you can see, she runs like a champ! and makes decent power at 10psi!
This is my 1950 GMC pickup sitting on a 1987 gmc 4x4 frame, 305 fuel
injected, four speed with complete setup: wiring, computer, heater,
gauges, etc...I used a fiberglass kit from a ford probe to make my front
spoiler, side skirts, hood vents, roll pan. The tonneau cover is from a
Toyota. The side mirrors are from a Nissan sentra. Everything is homemade
but well done.
270 gmc test stand run
George's spare 270 gmc running on a stand. Engine has good oil pressure, a
nice idle, and good compression. Compression was only 5 lbs different from
the high cylinder to the low cylinder. This engine hasn't been run in a
few years. Carb still needs adjustment.

Firing up the Turbo Jimmy GMC
This is Gary Hart's newest project: a daily drive-capable 1951 GMC pickup
with a 311" Jimmy inline 6 engine, HX30 turbocharger, large air-air Intercooler, distributorless ignition
using 6 LS coilpacks and Ford 36-1crank trigger, with a Megasquirt-2x
(Extra) EFI system from www.DIYautotune.com.
Originally built for racing at Bonneville, the engine still has a
race-oriented cam profile which may get swapped for something more tame
later on. Or maybe not :-)
Truck has a TH400 trans, 2.73:1 rear gears. This is a video of an early
startup, there are still some bugs to be worked out before we do much
