Bill Caswell Takes the BMW M3 Electric Pikes Peak Race Car for a Test Drive - EV West
Rally racing's favorite privateer and Pikes Peak veteren, Bill Caswell, stopped by the EV West shop to take the electric M3 for a test ride. Ride along with Bill as he takes his first ride in a performance oriented electric vehicle.
This Electric E36 Makes 850 lb/ft of Torque at the Wheels! - /TUNED
EV West isn't like other electric car builders. They aren't trying to save
the planet from gasoline emissions, they are trying to build race cars
using electric technology for events that can best use that technology. The
Pikes Peak International Hillclimb, with a total driving distance of under
20 miles at very high elevation, is one of those events. We take their
Pike's Peak M3 to the Dyno to find out what 400
Kilowatts means in horsepower, then to see how

find instead is even better: street racing school buses.
Electric Factory Five 818 Project - Track Shakedown - EV West / 33 Machine
In this introduction video of the Electric 818 car by EV West and 33
Machine, we take it out to Adams Motorsport Park for an initial shakedown.
The car is powered by a HPEVS AC2-35 dual AC motor setup running at 144kW.
The car has 16kWh of capacity, and can drive about 60-70 miles on it's
lightweight lithium ion battery pack. Recharging is done through an onboard
5000kW charger, and is public charge station compatible, making this street
legal electric rocket ship a great way to run around town, and still have
track-worthy performance. The current weight of the car is 1700 pounds, but
it still needs just under 250 pounds of bodywork added to the car giving an
estimated final weight of 1950 pounds. For those looking for more
information on this project, please visit EVWest.com or 33machine.com

This car is based in Oregon... there are something like 18 hydro electric
power plants in that state! Hydro generation accounts for 58% of all

Only about 15% of the energy from the fuel you put in your tank gets used
to move your car down the road or run useful accessories, such as air
conditioning. The rest of the energy is lost to engine and driveline
inefficiencies and idling. Therefore, the potential to improve fuel
efficiency with advanced technologies is enormous. With an Electric Car it
costs just $1.00 per 100kms with MUCH more performance than with petrol at
$20.00 per 100kms.
EVs use between 1/6th and 1/10th the energy of a comparable ICE powered

Folding moped & EV motorcycle that can't fall (thanks to gyroscopic stability)
Danny Kim has started his own car company, though, except for the old Land
Rover he converted to run on biodiesel, his "cars" all have two wheels.
He's patented a couple of electric cargo scooters, one of which folds up
entirely to fit in elevators, pickup trucks... your apartment.
The vehicle that could put Lit Motors on the map is his C1. Part
motorcycle, part car, he calls it a cyclecar. It's two-wheeled and tilts
and leans like a motorycle, but it's fully enclosed and steers like a car.
And best of all, thanks to gyroscopes, it doesn't fall down.
The Lit Motors design house in San Franciso's SOMA is layered with his
designs. Kim takes us for a tour of the old warehouse where he parks his
biodiesel Land Rover, his patented EV cargo scooters and his cyclecar

High Voltage Fuse Short Circuit Testing with EV West and Electric Vehicle Battery Pack
This is a quick demonstration video of various items being subject to a
short circuit with an EV battery pack of 250 volts. EV West shows what
happens when a regular 12 volt automotive fuse holder is used in a high
voltage electric vehicle application. Unfortunately the fruit and other
food items never exploded. Please practice safe fuses.
For more information, visit the EV West site for proper fuse applications.
