BMW S1000RR onboard at Brands Hatch GP
Ride onboard with Senior Road Tester Michael Neeves around the Brands Hatch GP circuit on his Park Lane BMW S1000RR race bike.
Barry Sheene and Kenny Roberts bikes ridden
The Barry Sheene bike we have here is a square-four 1975 Suzuki RG500 XR14. Sheene won his first ever GP on it and the '76 and '77 world championships. In the yellow corner is an inline-four-cylinder 1980 Yamaha YZR500 OW48R, ridden by three-time world champion 'King' Kenny Roberts, complete with two reverse cylinders (hence the 'R'). Both are excessively loud, smelly two-strokes, with wafer-thin powerbands and no interest whatsoever in suffering fools gladly. Get all the latest news at http://www.motorcyclenews.com
Kawasaki H2R Secret Test | High Speed Run | Motorcyclenews.com
We’re confident the H2R is going to break 200mph; after that we’re into the unknown. We speed tested the road-going Kawasaki H2 just a few weeks ago and it kicked sand in the face of the Suzuki’s Hayabusa, smoking it to 180mph while becoming the fastest-accelerating bike we have ever tested at MCN. Normal production bikes are restricted to a manufacturers’ agreement of 300kph (186mph) but Kawasaki has thrown the rulebook in the bin with the H2R; they say there are no speed limits or restrictors. The only limiting factor is the size of the rider’s coconuts. For the full write-up ready the May 20, 2015 edition of MCN. Get the best of biking EVERY day...
