Godzilla Swapped Shelby Cobra – 600HP Restomod Monster

February 21st, 2024

At a curb weight of 2,485-pounds, with a 7.3-liter V8 onboard, this Superformance 1964 Shelby Cobra MkIII roadster is truly a monster. Imagine what Carroll Shelby would say if he could hear this 600hp naturally aspirated beast roar.

Under the hood is a 7.3-liter Ford Godzilla V8. Engine composition includes a cast iron block, aluminum cylinder heads, a forged steel crankshaft and cast aluminum pistons. Engine compression is 10.5:1. Right out of the crate, this boy dog is making 430hp and 475 lb.-ft. of torque at max RPM. At first glance, the Innovate brand “stacks” or independent throttle body fuel injection setup is aesthetically stunning. Upon closer inspection, you will find it incredibly smooth and efficient. Shifting is handled using a Tremec TKX 5-speed manual transmission with a specially designed shifter.

Outside, the body is a CSX replica Cobra riding on a modern Superformance chassis. It’s the best of both worlds. Fully adjustable Bilstein shocks are utilized on all four corners. Like the chassis, the Wilwood 4-wheel disc power brake system is ultra-modern with the master cylinder tucked underneath the dash. The wheels are custom designed and model specific to the 30th Anniversary Superformance Cobra line.

Inside is a mixture of contemporary and nostalgic with leather and carbon fiber throughout.

It’s time to get Shawn on the road for a test drive in this beautiful beast.
