Dodge Challenger Hellcat Jailbreak vs. C6 Corvette Z06 – 60 to 160 MPH Street Hits
July 26th, 2024It’s about to go down on the streets (of Mexico) tonight. We are talking about a high-speed grudge race between a pair of stallions purpose-built for the craft. The Dodge is big on power but it’s a heavy pig. The Z06 is short on ponies but only weighs about 3,200-pounds. This should be a close contest.
Representing the GM contingent is the 2007 C6 Chevrolet Corvette Z06. In stock trim the rear-wheel drive C6 Z06 was equipped with a naturally aspirated all-aluminum 7.0-liter V8 engine mated to a 6-speed manual transmission. The massive V8 motor could churn out 505hp and 470 lb.-ft of torque. Built for street or strip, the Corvette Z06 could accelerate from 0 to 60 mph in 3.1-seconds and turn the standing quarter-mile in 11.7-seconds @ 125 mph. Top speed was 198 mph. Featured in this video is a C6 that has been modified with a cat delete exhaust, a high-performance intake manifold and a 93-octane tune. He’s now putting down 500whp.
The 2023 Dodge Challenger Hellcat Jailbreak is a fire-breathing beast of an automobile. Under the hood is a supercharged 6.2-liter High Output HEMI V8 engine capable of producing 807hp and 707 lb.-ft. of torque. The transmission is an 8-speed automatic. In factory condition, the Jailbreak can accelerate from 0 to 60 mph in 3.6-seconds and blow through the 1320 in 10.8-seconds @ 124 mph and accelerate from 0 to 60 mph in 3.4-seconds. Top speed was 203 mph. Current mods include a cold air intake and a minor pulley swap.
Time to hit the interstate and let this kitty purr.
