Gold Dust Mustang Crushes Eighth-Mile

August 29th, 2017

Hello racing fans and welcome to LightsOut8 from the South Georgia Motorsports Park! Among the contenders in the PRO275 Class this weekend, we have none other than Fletcher Cox (owner not driver). Fletcher is an NFL defensive lineman with the Philadelphia Eagles. Fletcher is among the elite defensive linemen in the NFL and loves drag racing. He has built at least two high-powered Mustangs. The one featured in this clip has a very special backstory. Fletcher’s late brother (Trell Cox) loved the sports entertainment (professional wrestling) character known as Gold Dust. The paint job on this car is skillfully done Read More

Fast Track Fox Body – 7-Second Quarter-Mile

November 22nd, 2016

Fast Track Performance in Louisville, Kentucky has this Fox Body Mustang on the fast track to the winner’s circle and some serious cash prizes. While the combination of lightweight Mustang body and turbocharged LS based engine is not the most beloved among the Ford purists; it is quickly becoming one of the most popular paths to success in amateur drag racing. Mustang bodies are plentiful, so they can be purchased for cheap. The LS engine platform is extremely durable and capable of producing massive amounts of horsepower. Forced air induction devices are selling at all time low prices. Throw all Read More

3200HP Fox Body Mustang

May 14th, 2016

Some folks say that we do things a little different in the Deep South and I reckon that is true for the most part. However, when it comes to Lights Out 7 events at the South Georgia Motorsports Park, ‘different’ just might mean some of the baddest cars on the planet. Here’s an example: Mustang Mike is campaigning a beautiful Fox Body Mustang with a massive 670-cubic-inch LS7 billet engine and a pair (yes, I said a pair) of ProCharger F1X superchargers making 43-pounds of boost at 7,000 RPM. This car has one of the most unique supercharger setups that Read More

Street and Strip – SRT Viper vs. Foxbody Mustang

April 12th, 2016

After a full day of roasting rubber at the drag strip, where it posted a best ET of 8.64-seconds @ 159.19 mph, this little Mustang is about to tangle with a radically modified Dodge SRT Viper on the streets. One would not expect a Ford to hang-in with a perfectly balanced performance machine in roll racing action. Check out the video. The outcome may surprise you. The Ford is making 1,100+hp using a 363-cubic-inch Dart Racing engine block, a set of precision built racing cylinder heads, an 83-millimeter turbocharger, and a heavy-duty automatic racing transmission. The Mopar manages to produce Read More

Eight-Mile Monster Foxbody Mustang

April 8th, 2016

Fletcher Cox (of the NFL’s Philadelphia Eagles) makes his living getting after quarterbacks. Shaun Harris makes his living driving Fletcher’s beast of a Foxbody Mustang and getting after the competition in the 1/8-mile. With a 481X Proline engine and a pair of Precision 102-millimeter turbochargers (mated to a Turbo400 transmission), this is being billed as the fastest stock suspension car on the planet. This thing really gets down the track recording a 3.97 @ 205.76 mph, a 3.96 @ 212.94 mph, a 3.95 @ 206.95, and finally a 3.86 @ 206.83 mph on the way to the finals.

St. Louis Street Car Takeover

December 21st, 2015

If you like heads up dig racing, then you’ll love this video. All of the entries in this event had to complete a mandatory 50-mile cruise through St. Louis to prove their street worthiness. It focuses on a turbocharged Foxbody Mustang as it makes its way through a field of elite level competitors. Rich Frost’s Mustang comes in well heeled with a 5.7-liter small block Ford engine and an 82-millimeter turbocharger. The combination is good for 1,200hp. He battles some pretty stiff competition, including the Beater Bomb, the Crusty Nova, an 1,100hp GT-R, a 1,000hp turbocharged C1500, and a 1,200+hp Read More

Late Model Chevrolet ZL1 Camaro vs. Modified Foxbody Mustang

May 1st, 2015

This Foxbody Mustang is certainly not stock. That is evident by the monstrous “lick” that it is hitting in the staging area. This little Mustang sounds awesome and I, for one, expected it to put away the late model Camaro (which appears to be stock). Not so fast, friend! The Camaro is outfitted with the high-performance ZL1 package. It posts a 12.32-second pass at 115.44 mph, with stock rubber on the rear. The Foxbody driver comes out of the gate slowly and the Camaro eats him alive, despite having some traction issues at the start. The ZL1 is equipped with Read More
