This is the run I made right after the big wheelie pass (see my other vids to see that run). This pass was made with 4 primary header tubes collapsed to about half their original size as a result of coming down from the wheelstand the run before. I still haven't raised the shift point yet. Still short shifting at 7,000rpm.
1973 Chevy Vega Wagon 565ci BBC
This is my 73 Chevy Vega Wagon idling through a pair of 4" Dynomax bullet muffs. It's powered by a Reher-Morrison 565ci BBC. 980hp and 811ft/lbs. No turbo, no blower, no Nitrous, no alky. Looking to start testing the new combo this year.
UPDATE: First full pass with soft launch, conservative shift RPM and thru the mufflers... http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=oGsoSxn1Glc
Big Block Chevy Vega Wagon Wheelie
A little too much launch RPM resulted in the car hitting the wheelie bars and staying there. I lifted to get the front end back down. I then got right back on it and it jacked the front end right back up. I lifted again and aborted the run. 4,000rpm launch which is still a full 1,000rpm BELOW the engines peak torque! Crushed 4 primary header tubes on this pass.
