1000WHP Street Shootout – BMW M3 vs. Corvette ZR1

February 13th, 2024

What we have here is a street shootout between a pair of modified monster machines. Both cars are looking good, sounding great and both are laying down a “grand canyon” (1000hp) to the wheels. Take a look.

The BMW M340i XDrive sedan is powered by a turbocharged and intercooled inline 6-cylinder engine supplemented by an electric motor inside the 8-speed automatic transmission. The hybrid motor is supplied power from a 48-volt battery under the trunk. In factory condition, the M340i makes only 382hp and 369 lb.-ft. of torque. Featured in this video is a BMW that has been upgraded with a built engine and a larger turbocharger – with all the bells and whistles. This Beemer is putting 1,000hp through the all-wheel drive platform.

In the other lane is the ominous C7 (2014-2019) Chevrolet Corvette ZR1 with its supercharged 6.2-liter V8 engine. Nothing hybrid about this rear-wheel drive beast that could make 650hp and 650 lb.-ft. of torque in stock trim. The Corvette has also been modified. Upgrades include a ported blower, high-performance cylinder heads and a high-performance camshaft. Other aftermarket bolt-ons also abound. The ‘Vette is also claiming 1,000hp in its current state.

This is going to be a wild one. Get these competitors ready, Frank and let’s roll.
