Dodge Demon 170 vs. Modified BMW M5 Competition – 60 to 150 Street Hits

April 10th, 2024

Tonight, we get a look at the new Mopar hot rod. The Dodge Demon 170 is the latest and greatest thing to come out of Motown since Gladys Knight and the Pips. The big reveal will be unfolding on the streets (of Mexico).

At a curb weight of 4,096-pounds, the all-wheel drive 2022 BMW M5 Competition is equipped with an all-aluminum twin turbocharged 4.4-liter V8 engine capable of producing 627hp and 553 lb.-ft. of torque in stock trim. Using the 8-speed automatic transmission, the M5 can accelerate from 0 to 60 mph in 2.6-seconds and turn the standing quarter-mile in 10.6-seconds @ 130 mph. Top speed is a computer controlled 190 mph. Competition Package add-ons include carbon-ceramic brakes with cross drilled rotors and Pirelli P-Zero rubber. The car featured in this video has been modified with performance exhaust, an E85 tune and some degree of weight reduction. This Beemer is faster than you think.

Finally, the rear-wheel drive 2023 Dodge Demon 170 is a beast of a sedan. Under the hood, we have a 6.2-liter HEMI V8 engine with a 3.0-liter supercharger. The combination is good for 1,025hp and 945 lb.-ft. of torque. In factory condition the Demon 170 can accelerate from 0 to 60 mph in 1.66-seconds and turn the quarter-mile in 8.91-seconds @ 151 mph. Keep in mind, that is bone stock (with racing fuel). Now, imagine the modifications. That’s enough to put a smile on your face.

Enjoy the race.
