Supercar Street Hits – McLaren 720S vs 1000HP R32 GTR

Lessons learned include the fact that anything wearing the McLaren nameplate is pretty difficult to get the jump on. Even if you have a ton more horsepower, it seems like anything in the McLaren lineup – with their above-average power-to-weight ratio – has the potential to jump out on you and take it to the stripe pretty hard. That being said, this primo (JDM) Nissan GTR ain’t conceding the victory. Not by a long shot.

This is definitely not your run-of-the-mill Nissan GTR. The engine has been upgraded with a stroker kit that bumps it up (from a 2.6-liter) to 3.0-liter RB30. It also has a single massive turbocharger on wastegate pressure. The exhaust is 4-inch straight-piped out to the rear. Maximum output is estimated at over 1,000hp at the crankshaft. This Nissan is rear-wheel drive only (I have no idea why) and has a beefy set of Mickey Thompson skins on the rear. This car looks and sounds amazing.

The McLaren 720S is basically stock. That means a twin turbo 4.0-liter V8 that can produce 710hp and has a top speed (electronically controlled) of 212 mph. The McLaren 720S can also accelerate from 0 to 60 mph in 2.8-seconds.

There’s also a fantastic looking Porsche 911 Turbo S that rolls into frame on a few of these hits. He has a 3.8-liter twin turbocharged Boxer-V6 under the bonnet. It has the capacity to generate 640hp and accelerate from 0 to 60 mph on 2.6-seconds. Top speed is 205 mph.

When these three machines cut loose on the interstate (in Mexico) it is utter pandemonium. You don’t want to miss this one!
