At the heart of this beast is an all-aluminum (block and heads) 426 cubic-inch HEMI engine. The block is cast aluminum with 4-bolt powder metal main caps. The crankshaft and connecting rods are forged, as are the (aluminum) pistons. The aluminum cylinder heads are of hemispherical design with 54mm intake valves and 42mm exhaust valves. The compression ratio is 9.5:1 and the peak RPM is 6,800. Maximum estimated output for the Hellephant is 1,000hp and 950 lb.-ft. of torque.
Today, the crew will put this Hellephant to the test with a dyno certification and test drive. Buckle up.
