Nitrous Chevy S10 vs. Supercharged Camaro ZL1 – Street Digs

These guys are bringing the heat back to the streets with some high-level dig racing. It’s all Chevy on this clip as an old school small block swapped S10 pickup tussles with a late model Camaro ZL1 and a pair of Corvettes square off. On the program is eighth-mile No Prep with wads of cash on the line. One thing is for sure – it won’t be boring.

The S10 takes on the Camaro in the first race. Both vehicles are modified for performance. The S10 has been upgraded with a V8 engine and several kits of nitrous (among other things). The Camaro is factory supercharged and features a full accoutrement of bolt-ons. The ZL1 is also tuned to burn E50 fuel.

After a staggered burnout, the light drops and the S10 gets the hole shot advantage. It seems as though the pickup will walk away with the win. However, entering the trap, the Camaro is gaining ground quickly. By the finish line, the car has pulled ahead of the truck and taken a close victory. Great race. Camaro FTW.

Now, we have a contest between a C8 Corvette Stingray (naturally aspirated) and a C7 Corvette Z06 (supercharged). As the first ever mid-engine Corvette, the C8 is equipped with a newly designed (LT2) 6.2-liter V8 engine that churns out 495hp and 465 lb.-ft. of torque. The C8 can accelerate from 0 to 60 mph in 2.9-seconds and has a top speed of 194 mph. Outfitted with a supercharged (LT4) 6.2-liter V8, the front-engine C7 is much more powerful. It can produce 650hp and 650 lb.-ft. of torque. Top speed is 185 mph.

Let’s see what shakes loose when these two hook-up on the streets (of Mexico).
