Supercharged 2017 Chevy Camaro vs. Turbo 2014 Nissan GT-R – Street Rolls

March 3rd, 2022

It’s import versus domestic on these streets tonight. Representing the Red, White and Blue is a supercharged Camaro ZL1. In the other lane is the beast of Japan (Godzilla), with upgraded turbos. Let’s have a closer look.

The 2017 Chevrolet Camaro ZL1 comes with a supercharged 6.2-liter LT4 V8 engine that can churn out 650hp and 650 lb.-ft. of torque in stock condition. It can accelerate from 0 to 60 mph in 3.4-seconds and turn the quarter-mile in 11.5-seconds @ 125 mph. Top speed is an electronically controlled 195 mph. The Camaro is rear-wheel drive and weighs in at approximately 3,900-pounds. This car has been modified with a performance camshaft, a set of exhaust headers, countless bolt-ons and a methanol injection system. It has also been tuned. This car sounds amazing!

On the other hand, the 2014 Nissan GT-R is no slouch either. It rolls off the assembly line with a twin turbocharged 3.8-liter V6 engine capable of producing 545hp and 463 lb.-ft. of torque. Godzilla can get from 0 to 60 mph in 2.9-seconds and eclipse the quarter-mile in 11.2-seconds @ 124 mph. Top speed for the GT-R is 191 mph. It is all-wheel drive and tips the scale at about 3,885-pounds. This import has also been enhanced with a stock turbo upgrade, a full assortment of bolt-on performance art and a full performance exhaust setup. The intercooler has also been upgraded and the intake manifold is aftermarket. A Boost Logic controller is the brains of the turbo system. It is tuned for E85 fuel.

The first race is a 50 mph roll. These two cars take the hit and run neck-and-neck until the Camaro begins to pull away slightly. The cameraman gets squishy and ends the contest. Camaro FTW.

Next up is a 65 mph roll. Can Godzilla redeem himself against Captain America? Will the camera guy soil himself?
