As for Chevy’s latest, there’s no electric assistance, no supercharger, no hybrid help and no turbos either. However, there is an entirely new engine, the LT6 5.5-liter dry sump, flat-plane crank V8 taken from the C8R GTLM race car. The new V8 is good for 670bhp and 459 lb.- ft. of torque. The C8 Z06 can accelerate from 0–60 mph in 2.7-seconds. Frankly, it sounds more Italian than American.
The rowdy red German comes equipped with a 4.0-liter flat six-cylinder motor that can generate 502hp and 346 lb.-ft. of torque. The GT3 can accelerate from 0 to 60 mph in 3.0-seconds and it weighs just 3,164-pounds. The Porsche has a 6-speed manual gear box. Sound like fun?
I can’t wait any longer to get these two horses on the track and let them run. Giddy-up!
