Texas Street Rolls

They say that everything is bigger in Texas. This may be an exaggerated statement but Texas street racers certainly do it as big as anybody in the land. They just do it south of the border.

This clip features a diverse blend of imported and domestic vehicles that are purpose built for roll racing. These guys (and girls) roll onto the interstate and engage in a pure contest of speed that begins at 60 mph.

The camera car is a 1,000+hp Nissan GT-R. In the first contest, it will do battle with a Cadillac CTS-V (nitrous equipped). The turbocharged import easily spanks the Caddy and moves on to the next race.

A 1,000hp Corvette (C7) Z06 is jigged up to run against the GT-R next. Corvette takes the hit but the Nissan draws him back in for the win.

Ford shows up to be represented in the form of a twin turbo Mustang Cobra. The GT-R jumps on him like a tick on a june-bug and never looks back. 3-0 GT-R.

This time a 1,000hp CTS-V rolls up to the beast. Again, the Cadillac takes the hit before getting blown away by the Nissan.

Switching to the darkside, the cameraman climbs out and walks around the ‘Bad Cobra’ twin turbo Mustang. It sounds as if this may be the equal to Godzilla. It has a built engine, Holley EFI, and a pair of Precision 6766 turbochargers (29 psi). Buckle up! Whoa! The GT-R blew him off like grandpa’s Oldsmobile.

This Nissan driver has it figured out. In order to allow his turbo to spool up, he stomps the accelerator at the 2-count. By 3, he is fully spooled and jumps out of the gate like a bullet. Pretty effective as you can see.

There’s lots more roll racing action in this video. Check it out.
