The C7 Corvette is equipped with a 6.2-liter supercharged (Lingenfelter) V8 engine. Modifications include a cold air intake, exhaust headers and catless downpipes, an oversized throttle body, a throttle body spacer and a performance tune. The rear-wheel drive Corvette ZR1 tips the scale at 3,560-pounds.
The Dodge Challenger Hellcat is nearly a ton heavier than the ‘Vette at 5,450-pounds. Under the hood is a supercharged 6.2-liter HEMI V8 engine. In its current state of modification (including the big Whipple blower), the Hellcat could be producing as much as 1,100whp. The Hellcat is also a rear-wheel drive coupe. Both cars are running drag slicks.
Just as I was getting into the multiple camera angles and excellent backdrop, the Corvette belched a dragon-like flame and walked away from the Hellcat with ease. Lighter, faster and so on and so forth.
