Why din't you just buy a GT??? Then run faster w/o spending all that money.

(Rgyen)
If I had a dollar for every time someone said that to me. LOL. I had no intention of modding this car, no intention of racing. Just started doing it and all of the sudden I got hooked! My next car will probably be a dedicated 5.0 LX track car.

(Ceasar)
Dude dont let people bust your balls ! Very unique, you know someone would scope your car out and say, hey its a V6, I can take it ! And then be totally lost as to why you punished them. I like the ride and im very impressed. Its different and almost a sleeper. darn good work !

(Rygen)
It's cool man, I'm used to it. I like having a quick six. It's challenging actually to make it run with it's V8 big brothers. And cause I am so hooked, I'm still shopping for an old 5.0 LX to build up as a dedicated track car.

(Forrest)
Just curious, why would you put all this money into a V6 Mustang when it's no faster than a stock GT? Shouldn't you of just bought a GT?

(Rygen)
@Forrest Read the other posts, should provide some background. Last 3 lightly modded GT's I ran against at the track lost to me. So I'm not sure what you mean. But I'm not out to get GT's, I'm just enjoying the car. What are you running at the track? Just curious. And the mods are bit outdated now, LOL.

(Forrest)
My bad, I guess I should of looked at the other comments before I commented. I don't own a GT, I just had a v6 Mustang as a rental and was curious what kind of times people got for them.

(Johnny Unitas)
nice job, dont let the man get you down. Get that 60ft down and you can run low 13's high 12's according to your MPH.

(Brad)
Close Rgyen! 13.080 is just a hair away from your goal. Keep it up!

(Brad)
Nice job! I knew you would get it after talking to you @ Norwalk

(Mike)
Just bought an 05 base w V6 and stick. Am used to 944's & 968's during the last ten years but got somehow tired of Porsches. Figured it would be more fun to make a six run, as all of the Porsches were 4's and stomped many 8 cars. If I had a v8 it would be in a sixties or 70's car. A turbo six would be ultimate, I don't seem to want an 8 cyl in 2006 after ten years of 160 mph 4's. Nice job on your six, gives me incentive....

(Rygen)
Thanks Mike!!! Glad you appreciate this alternative approach. If you want to find more about modifying the 4.0, try this site: http://www.40collective.com I'm a co-owner/admin on the site. Plenty of good information there. Cheers.

(Bruce)
Like it! Like it! Anybody can make an 8 scream. I have what you have (Stock) and am planning on doing the same. Just the look on those beat'n faces is worth whatever I dump (moneywise) into it. It's like bringing a knife to a gun fight and winning! But seriously, Nissan 3.0 engins have been kicken ass for years. It's about time an American V6 did the same.

(Rygen)
Thanks dude. Definitely a challenge but worth it. I get a lot of props at the track for it.

(mk028)
I like the v6 thing with the stang, its a sleeper. I have a 04 cobra but i was wondering, why did you go with the turbo instead of a supercharger. I know you get more hp out of a turbo but you also get the turbo lag. I dont know a whole lot about modifications what was your thinking behind the decision?

(Rygen)
I went with the turbo cause compared to the centri SC's out for the 4.0L, the turbo made power faster. This is because the turbo in the PH kit is sized for the 4.0L. Its not so big that you experience turbo lag. I also like the fact that he turbo does not need hp to make hp, thus putting less strain on the motor to make power.

(Shawn)
Nice ride man. My mustang is a 05 V6 but I went with a Vortech supercharger, and like you, I got hooked. I also went with Jba headers and dual exhaust. The vortech is putting out 9-10 lbs of boost and with the stock 3.31 gears and it still \

(Derek)
Very nice ride...i got a mustang v6, just because i cant afford the insurance on a v8. however, i can save up a little here and there until i can buy a turbo, then i will be able to hold my own against v8's. Where is the best/ cheapest place to buy a turbo charger?

(michael)
hey man nice ride glad to see i wasnt the only one with that all in mind i have a v6 05 as well im putting jbaheaders and duals on it as well and was thinking the same chip and going with the roush air intake what you think and later after the power is there putting the roush body kit on lol a v6 roush

(Dennis)
won't this give you better fuel economy than a GT? Possibly lower insurance rate too. I've seen some kits claiming 400+hp, uh. that's definitely more than a stock gt.

(Richard)
I have a question, I just baught the exact same car, and I like you had no intensions of racing but... Do you have any suggestions on how to get more hp out of it without spending thousands of dollars?

(Rygen)
A CAI, tune and axle back muffler can get theses cars into the 14's, (they are 15 second cars stock). Here is a site I go to for 4.0L mustang information, they can answer your question to much greater detail. www.mustang40.com

(kasey)
hey bro i have the same deal i have a 05 4.0 mustang and i am sick of people talkin s**t about my stang so im on a quest to get 450 hp out of it. i would love to talk to you about your stang i think what you did is tight please e mail me kaseycoo@msn.com

(Dennis)
well ever since I stopped hanging out with nitwits and morons, I haven't heard a peep about V8's in over half a year for mustangs. I'm still stock, but I might do that H pipe muffler and change the body style to the V8 stuff just because I like the moulding on the bottom. I saw a shelby V8 with ponies on the sides yesterday, so imo nobody's really going to know the difference or care. People buy what they like, otherwise we'd all be driving subaru wrx sti's.

(Lance)
Strong numbers! Way to set the bar for 4.0, looking forward to seeing even lower et's

(PJ)
Great job man!!! I just purchased an '06 4.0 and I love the car. I'm looking at the JBA true dual exhaust conversion kit as my first mod.

(FD)
Nice!! im looking to buy an 07 V6. I would love to eventually install a turbo... how much would a kit cost me?? great vid!

(Josh07)
very nice. i just bought a 07 V6 with a 5 speed cuz i couldnt afford the extra for a gt and the insurance. but im very impressed at its performance. and i 2 want to add a super or turbo but then again i love the sound of a big V8. so how does urs sound with duals and a turbo?

(jimbo)
I just bought an 08 V6. I am already tired of guys at work bustin my B*^%.. How much am I lookin at to beat a GT. Do I need more than just Twin Turbo? Curious

Still getting a feel for the car, 2nd time out with it since the Powerhouse block, heads and cams. This is at 13lbs of boost. With a good launch, I'm hoping for 11.60s and after that, we will dial up the boost to 20lbs and shoot for 10s....if the transmission will stay in one piece.
