A car built around an engine; Sexy Sally features a 565 cubic-inch big block mill built by Beck Racing Engines. The massive motor consists of a Dart Big M block with Dart Pro 1 cylinder heads. The rotating assembly is forged to withstand copious amounts of nitrous. Everything inside the engine is premium. On motor only, the engine can produce 900whp on race gas. With a big shot of nitrous that figure jumps to over 1,200whp. That’s why he needs those giant tires out back.
The transmission is an FTI Stage 5 reverse pattern manual valve body “automatic” built to withstand 2,000hp. The custom shifter in this car looks like something between Star Wars and Road Warrior. It’s tricky.
Out back, we have a narrowed and reinforced 12-bolt GM rear end with 4.11:1 gears. The rear tires (radials) are 33-inches tall and 22-inches wide. Trust me, this powertrain needs every inch of that rubber.
So, let’s hit the road and see if Sexy Sally lives up to her name.
