These modular 5.8 Trinity engines feature a stout aluminum blockand are fitted with a severe duty forged crankshaft which is held in place with6 bolt main caps. Forged I-Beam rods churn the eight lightweight forged Mahle pistonsto a boost ready 9:0 to 1 compression ratio. The pistons are moly coated andwere designed with thicker bulkheads to better support the piston domes duringthe 2000 psi cylinder pressure this engine creates during 15 pounds of boost. Pressurized oil injectors are used to helpkeep piston heat to acceptable levels. The high flowing 4 valves per cylinder aluminumheads and exceptional valvetrain are stable to 7k rpm and allow these reciprocatingrockets to crank out 662 horsepower and 631 lb-ft of torque in STOCKform right off the Ford Romeo plant niche engine assembly line! Ford, in their own best interest,intentionally over engineered these motors. They were tuned conservatively for longterm durability in order to offer them with a new car warranty. They’lleasily make and take a lot more power than their advertised ratings.
