I know a little bit about Saleen Wheels since I have been collecting them since the late 80\'s and have seen, owned and still own many different Saleen wheels produced from over the years! This is one of those Sets of Saleen Wheels produced that I can count on one hand, where I have seen others like it. You will see where they talk about the Lemans Wheels and 3 different Variations, and make mention of a variation made in USA, but no Saleen Script on the outer lip, well here\'s a Variation of the USA produced Saleen wheels with the \"SALEEN\" Lettering on the outside face of each rim and also on the back side. Since 1986 which was the start of this obsession of collecting Saleen stuff, I have only ever seen 3 other rims in total, that were of this same type. Not saying their aren\'t more out there, but I have seen a lot of Saleen wheels and a lot of Saleen cars and these are the small insignificant Saleen Trivia things I look at when viewing the different cars. Yes, Obsessed! lol This Saleen Lemans Style variation I have no documents on how many were produced/ordered by Saleen etc... as their is no info on this particular style one.

I HAVE BEEN SITTING ON THESE RARE WHEELS SINCE 1999 WHEN I PURCHASED THEM AND HAVE BEEN WAVERING ON OFFERING THEM FOR SALE OR NOT? THESE WHEELS HAVE ALWAYS BEEN A PUZZLE TO ME SINCE I HAVE ONLY EVER SEEN 3 OTHER WHEELS LIKE THESE, NOT A COMPLETE MATCHING SET LIKE THESE ONES ARE!
These wheels were purchased in 1999 from a Saleen Side Walk Sale and at that time of purchase was told by the Saleen Employee Sales person working the Sale that they were originally equipped on a Saleen S351 Speedster Mustang #14 and were removed from that car due to one of the front wheels getting a crack on the inside lip from aparentlyhitting a pot hole at speed in the streets of Irvine and also had some outer lip damage from what Saleen called around the block driving at Saleen of this S351 Speedster before it got equipped with Chrome wheels instead and went off to the dealer later and sold. I was also perplexed at that time for wondering why they are the 8.5 with correct front and rare offsets all the way around and why were they equipped on this 1998 S351 to begin with without the 10 rears! I kick myself for not having something to record what the Saleen Sidewalk Sales person said, but they were sold off as a set of used wheels that day with the one front needing a repair and or the possibility that it might not be salvageable for being repaired.
Recently after so many years, I took them to be checked by the professional wheel company I use that used to do wheel repairs for Saleen long ago and they stripped the wheel, repaired the wheel and tested it and it was found to be structurally sound with no issues and spun true. All other wheels were still in were in excellent low mileage condition removed from that Saleen Car long ago, but I still had them all stripped and repainted so their would be no difference in paint coloration from then to now!
These have been a set of Saleen wheels I have held onto for years due to the history on them that I should have gotten some written documentation, but regardless, held onto them due to this Variation style of Saleen Wheel being Uncommon & Extremely Rare and hardly any documentation on!
This Saleen made in USA, with Raised \"SALEEN\" lettering on Outer Lip \"Lemans-Style\" AlloyWheel is an Extremely Rare Saleen Wheel from the past. I don\'t have much info on them, other then when I got them, the story of which car they were equipped on and what happened to them to have to be removed from that car and now they are here offered for sale for the first time!
This Saleen Stamped \"Lemans-Style\"Alloy Wheel Set is a Unique Saleen Wheel design from the past that has SALEEN Stamped on the outer part of the rim in raised lettering (See Picture #3 All Wheels have this) and on one of the back side spokes also (See Picture #5 All wheels stamped like this). These wheels were originally Silver and recently restored.
This Rare Saleen USA Raised SALEEN Lettering Wheel Set most likely would go unnoticed on a car with it\'s rare details since most don\'t notice these kinda things, regardless, they will be very nice hopefully equipped on a Saleen Mustang again! I had a Professional Wheel company that Saleen used to use way back in the past strip the wheels, Repair the one on the interior with welding the crack and body work on the exterior lip which made the Saleen Raised Letters not as detailed, (Not too Noticeable see picture second to lat), test them to spin true, they have no bends, look Excellent and are Reconditioned to show like quality!
These wheels have been sitting in my storage for many years now and recently Restored to their Show like Condition and are ready for equipping on a nice 1996-98 Saleen Mustang or other year Mustang but this Style was specific to 96-98 even though this Variation was made in 1998 and 1999 only!
Chances are you may never see a complete set like this again, especially looking like these ones do. I\'m hoping by seeing this Wheel set for sale, that others me look at their Original Saleen Ride and see if they have this Same Variation of Lemans USA Saleen Raised Lettering Wheel as I sure would like to know and I am sure there is more then just the 3 other ones I have seen floating around out there!
