With a best elapsed time of 10.1-seconds @ 136 mph, one would think this truck is pushing 800 to 1,000hp. Not so. The 5.9-liter Cummins swap and turbocharger upgrade only yielded around 600hp. A shot of nitrous helps to get the truck out of the hole, but the astounding 1,300 lb.-ft. of torque is what really makes the cheese more binding. This truck is a real neck-snapper coming out of the hole.
Running in the 7.0 Class, the Ranger makes it through the time trials with some degree of success. On the final pass, he snaps a universal joint like it was made of toothpicks and aluminum cans. That’s the price you pay for big torque. We’ll be seeing a lot of this truck in future No Prep events.
