(Thomas Mudd)
I own a 2005 Honda Accord Hybrid. Only modification is a K&N air filter. Raced it in 2006 at the Mid-Michigan MotorPlex. Hybrids do best when the battery is fully charged. First and best run was 15.14 at just under 94 mph. Subsequent runs became increasingly slower until I ran the car around the infield in a lower gear to recharge the battery pack. With better traction, the Accord is certainly capable of Ets in the high 14s. Car has been totally reliable, now has over 44,000 miles, has averaged a true 34-35 mpg over that distance. I drive 60-65 and am gentle on the pedal. Must drive that way to get the best out of a hybrid. Great car and worth the extra money.
