TT 5.3 LS Powered Lexus Goes 8.76

What do you get when you cram a big V8 (with a pair of turbochargers) into a tiny import coupe? Well, the most notable thing is likely to be a tremendous boost in your power-to-weight ratio. This video takes us to TX2K16 and brings us into contact with a 2002 Lexus IS300 that is purpose-built for crushing the 1/4-mile. Dedicated Motorsports (out of Pflugerville, Texas) has put together this concoction that is being billed as the ‘Fastest GM 6-Speed’.

This thing is stuffed full of an all-aluminum 5.3-liter Chevrolet LSX engine with a set of Xona Rotor 95-67 turbochargers, a massive air-to-air intercooler, and a MoTec M150 controller. The setup is cranking out around 1,100hp and he puts down a best ET of 8.76-seconds.
