With the Tesla’s robotic ability to hit 0-60 MPH in 3.1 seconds every time, it’s up to the McLaren to have a perfect launch to keep up with the Tesla from a stop. Of course after the launch is over the lightweight McLaren puts some real distance between the two very quickly.
Keep in mind that Tesla has an update coming for the P85D to enable Ludicrous Mode which adds another 70HP along with additional highway power which will put the P85D at just 2.8 seconds from 0-60 MPH and a 1/4 mile time in the high 10’s. This upcoming update will change the outcome of many races where the current Tesla typically gets beaten pretty bad at higher speeds.
Check out the video below along with some VBOX data showing how the Tesla pulls harder off the line for the first couple seconds.
