Blown Chevy Silverado Gaptizes Nissan GT-R – Half-Mile Airstrip Attack

From Bandimere Speedway (Rocky Mountain Race Week) to Kansas for the Kansas Airstrip Attack, this stick shift Chevrolet Pickup is kicking butt and taking names.

After a major rear end catastrophe, Cory and his team had to locate parts and repair their blown Chevy in order to irk out the final pass of Rocky Mountain Race Week Day One. Although he posted an 11.86 @ 122.85 mph, Cory was unbelievably excited to complete a Day One pass after all his struggles. Anyone who has ever been in a similar situation couldn’t help but share in this guy’s enthusiasm. It was great!

On Day Two, in Kearney, Nebraska, Cory posts an 11.50-second pass @ 124.24 mph and an 11.08 @ 126.79 mph. Still not the 10-second pass of which he was dreaming, but every bit of improvement is appreciated.

Under the hood of the “Illverado” Chevy is a GM LS3 engine (6.2-liter) with an LSA supercharger. The transmission is a Tremec T-56 with a twin-disc clutch setup. The combination is good for 700whp and the truck has run a 10.8 @ 130 mph.

There’s lots more coverage from RMRW before moving on to the Half-Mile Kansas Airstrip Attack for some GT-R dream killing.
