Meet Jerry. He loves Grand Nationals and owns three. Today, Jerry has agreed to walk us through his pride and joy. It’s a 1987 GN with only 36k miles on the chassis. The running gear has even less. It’s still a V6 but it has been fortified with all the best internal components. Jerry dropped back to 1985 for an “on-center” 3.8-liter because it can handle more power. There’s a Champion intake manifold and a Precision 7675 turbocharger. An oversized intercooler is painted black and hidden up front. Output is estimated at 900hp and – get this – the Black Beauty is a dragstrip virgin.
A set of Weld Racing wheels (skinnys on the front), Willwood brakes and adjustable coil-over shocks help to keep the shiny side up and the greasy side down.
Climb in and have a seat on some pristine Grand National seats from 1987. It’s time to hit the streets and see what this baby is all about.
