It covers up the spark plug wires to give a real clean look, much like the DOHC VTEC engines have from the factory. These have a fabric backing on the underside so the spark plug wire boots don\'t rub on the metal.

We use true zinc-plated steel threaded spacers that will last forever, while the competition uses aluminum spacers that strip very easily (which leaves your cover not secure).- We choose to use lighter gauge aluminum and stainless steel (0.050\" and 20ga) because any thicker is just unnecessary. The cover is purely cosmetic and not structural so a thicker gauge metal just increases the cost to you the consumer.
- We also use true socket button head bolts that offer a very clean look compared to \"low quality\" looking phillips head bolts. We strive to have high quality parts at an affordable cost. This particular B18B/B20 cover isn\'t flush with the valve cover surface, it is recessed a 1/4\" which is more attractive to most people. If you desire a flush mount cover, you can simply install the supplied spacers. Installation: To install this cover, the center valve cover nuts are removed and the supplied couplers are installed. This applies the same clamping force to the valve cover like stock, while allowing the wire cover bolt to have adequate thread depth.Installation typically takes 5-10 minutes.
