Up for auction is an instrument cluster from a 1988 528e with the 140mph speedometer and 6k tachometer. This cluster should fit the E28 528e BMW from 1986 to 1988. It should also work for the 83-85 528e and is considered an upgrade.
As you can see in the pictures, this cluster has the updated SI board which has the Lithium batteries rather than the Nickel Cadnium batteries which are known to leak and cause damage. The SI board batteries have been recharged and read 3.2 volts and 800mAh the batteries had been replaced at some point in time and worked fine when I tested the cluster.
As for the odometer, it has been checked and the broken gears have been replaced. The speedometer has been bench tested and it performs flawlessly. The odometer will be set to whatever mileage you need before it ships out.
The plastic lens is not perfect but is in great shape. Overall, it is an excellent looking cluster. Shipping is free within the US & I will knock off $25 if you do not need the cluster housing and intend to use yours. Thanks for looking !
