I have a number of used replacement graphite pumps with the electric motor. They replace the vacuum pump inside the 8L0862257N 8L0 862 257N central locking pump module. They work on Audi modules that start with 8L0862257 or 8D0862257 My parts have a 9 month replacement warranty. This part will fit 1998 - 2001 A4 and 1997 - 2003 A8 Audi. It should also work on S4 and S8 those same years. It will work on 1997 A6 and 1998 A6 AVANT only. It will not work on any older A6s without some fancy modifications to the air lines and it definitely won\'t work on newer A6s. Some have reported using this part to fix their Audi A3.
Replacement is literally a 10 minute job once the pump is out of the trunk. My pumps come from a much more robust older VAG product that I\'ve spent a fair bit of time researching. I do the modifications needed to make them fit, but I have the process down to an art; they\'re a direct fit replacement for the and A8/S8 D2 (and A4 B5) units. I\'ve been running them in both my 1999 A8 and my 1999 A4 for quite some time...and have sent dozens out to others who have used them successfully. There\'s no need to reprogram your remotes if this was your only problem.
In essence, the major difference between my part and the OEM part is a thicker impeller and related parts. The impeller in my part is about 9mm thick vs the 6mm thickness of the OEM part. I test each one before shipping and will guarantee them to work on arrival. I include a printed set of instructions for disassembling the module and replacing the pump. It\'s really simple and only takes a couple of screw drivers and something to cut/strip wires.
